Make a donation.

The vast majority of our funding comes from donations. We do not receive government funding for what we do. There are donation boxes at the back of the room on Sunday but most of our funding comes through systematic giving. Using our new donor platform you can make a one-time gift, set up a recurring donation, and manage your donor profile online.

Use the donate button below to give for the first time or to manage/update your giving profile including recurring donations.

Electronic Fund Transfer Donations (EFT)

You can also authorize regular withdrawals directly from your bank account. This is another effective way to budget your giving and reduces the fees Commons pays to receive your donation. Please get in touch with donate@commons.church to set up the enrollment.

Donation of Securities

Individuals or corporations may qualify for favourable tax treatment by directly donating eligible securities. Donation of securities to Commons Church is handled by CanadaHelps.org where you can access our donor profile and arrange to donate securities.

On-Site Debit or Credit Card Donations

A kiosk is located in the lobby of the church where you can donate using your debit or credit card.

Did you Know…

That through tax receipts for your donations you can receive up to 50% back when you file your tax return.

Alberta has the most generous charitable tax credit program in Canada. Donors receive a non-refundable tax credit for up to 50% of donations. These credits can be carried forward for up to 5 years. In addition, the federal government has created a First-Time Donor Super Credit that provides an additional 25% on the first $1000 donated. This means that if you have never donated to charity before and sign up for a $100/month donation, you would actually receive an $830 credit on your taxes.

Fine Print

Commons Church spending is confined to Board approved programs/projects. Contributions designated to approved programs/projects will be used as directed with the understanding that once needs have been met, or for any reason cannot be completed as determined by the Board, remaining funds will be allocated where most needed.

Tax receipts are issued once a year for all donations received.
