PRAYER FOR NEW BEGINNINGS

God of fresh starts,
Help us to recognize the infinite beauty of springtime rhythms -
Your created beauty revealing itself as it thaws then freezes,
Re-frosts and then softens again.
May we notice the parallels in our own lives:
Remembering that our progression is not linear either.
We are prone to wander when you call us to lead,
Prone to anger when you ask for compassion,
Prone to withhold when you call us to be expansive.
In this season of fresh starts,
Perhaps it feels like not much has changed,
Or that very little is on the horizon.
We trust that faith still walks on the path of uncertainty - in fact it thrives there.
So with enduring hope, God, will you help us to
Continue moving homeward,
Wherever home is in this season,
Trusting that you’ve warmed that space and are welcoming us into it.
Together we assert that our hope is found in the resurrection -
In the invitation to new life given to us by the Risen Christ.
And we thank you for the new mercies that greet us each day.
May this promise of renewal and infinite grace
Ground us in the blessing that in this new season,
So we can bloom in step with all of your creation.
