PRAYER OF REFLECTION FOR JOURNEYING

Loving God.
In my journeying with you,
May I never lose my sense of direction,
Never lose sight of the landmark towards which I travel.
Whether it be,
A journey towards compassion for myself and others,
A journey towards compromise in search of peace,
A journey towards acceptance of the tension found in mystery.

Christ,
May your light warmly guide me,
As I travel through life's mystery.
May that still small voice lead
to the place where I should be.
The places of wholeness and embodiment,
The places of connection with others and creation,
The places of invitation and welcome.

Lord,
In my sojourning,
I may feel disconnection,
Fear, anger, and frustration,
That the path was not as straight as I once thought,
Was more treacherous than I anticipated,
Was marked by u-turns, roadblocks and stagnation.

Lord, for each step I take forward today,
Be my guide, my strength, my safety and my peace.
Open my eyes and heart to what lays ahead,
That I may find your steady presence,
Your loving kindness,
Along the way.
