First steps.
One step at a time.
One of the best places to get started at Commons is First steps, a four-part class designed to get you up and running as quickly as possible at Commons. The classes are available online and happen throughout the year. You don't have to take all of the classes in one month. So, take your time as you find your place in the community.
First steps.
-
Step One: Vision.
This is all about us. Who are we and why we do what we do, all with a little of the history of how we got here. This is the perfect starting place if you’re new to Commons. A chance for us to share our vision, introduce you to the leadership, and hopefully answer any questions you might have as you begin exploring Commons.
-
Step Two: Connection.
Now that you know us a bit, let’s check in with you. This is a quick dive into the place you’re at as you come to Commons, and some options for how you might best fit. We’ll offer a roadmap for ways to connect — from Teams to Groups and all the communities in between.
-
Step Three: Leadership.
Find out what it means to be a leader at Commons. Some of us are drawn to do more than contribute; we want to shape the place. From Team Leads to Group Facilitators and Board Members, our leaders influence our future together. You’ll learn about our commitments to help you flourish and discover potential at Commons.
-
Step Four: Membership.
As a congregational church we believe the community is the church, and membership is the structure that helps us to express that. If you have a commitment to Jesus, and Steps One, Two and Three have helped you realize that Commons is the place you are coming to call home, then this is for you. Here you’ll learn about the history and governance of Commons and the commitments we have made together as a community.
