THE LORD’S PRAYER
Introduction Written by Bobbi Salkeld

I grew up hearing the Lord’s Prayer in worship services. I don’t remember ever memorizing it as a kid, but over time I just knew it.

And still, when I am low, when I am tired, when I feel the world’s weariness and I don’t know what to pray – I reach into my memory and there it is, that faithful companion: the Lord’s Prayer.

In just a moment, we will join our voices together in praying aloud the Lord’s Prayer. I encourage you to take a moment and match your posture with this prayer.

If you are in need or hold the needs of another, maybe you’d like to open your hands to receive.

If you hold longing in your heart or the longing of another, maybe you’d like to put your hand over your heart.

If your posture is one of gratitude or awareness of God’s provision, maybe you’d like to bow your head.

Let us pray together the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those
who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power and the glory,
For ever and ever.

Amen.
