Lesson 3: Abraham and Lot.
Passage: Genesis 13:1-12 - After Abraham and his family moved to the new land that God had shown them, some quarrelling arose between Abraham’s herders and those of his nephew Lot. The land could not support both of them with all their possessions while they lived together. So Abraham told Lot that he didn’t want there to be quarrelling between them or between their herders. He suggested that in order to live peacefully, they should go separate ways. Lot could choose which part of the land he wanted to live in and Abraham would take the other part. So Lot chose the plain of the Jordan while Abraham lived in Canaan.
Big Idea: Living peacefully with others.

How did they solve this problem?
Have you ever had an argument with a friend or someone in your family? How did you solve the problem?
Prayer — Bible Story Leader
"Dear God, thank you for the story that we learned today about how Abraham and Lot solved their problems with each other by giving each other some space. Sometimes friendships can be hard and we need to find ways to get along and live peacefully with each other. Please help us to know what the best thing to do is whenever we face problems with friends or family. Help us to love each other and give each other space if needed. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Craft: Chalk Galaxy — Activity Leader
Kids can draw a spiral outline onto black paper to get an outline for the galaxy, which they can fill in with different colours. They can also use white chalk to draw stars around it.
Alternatively, they can draw what they like, such as a family portrait or a picture of them with their friends / loved ones.
If a child is not interested in the activity, allow them to move to free play.
Dismissal: Collect tags and make sure each child leaves with their caregiver.

"Dear God, thank you for the story we learned today about how Abraham and Lot solved the problem of their workers fighting with one another in the new land that they were living in. Sometimes relationships can be challenging and arguments and fights can happen. Please give us the wisdom to know what to do in these situations so that we can live in peace with one another, especially those closest to us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
