Lesson 2: Jesus in Revelation 21.
Passage: Revelation 21 - John sees a vision of a New Heaven and New Earth. He also sees the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven, beautiful as a bride. He then hears a voice that says that God’s dwelling place is now among the people; God will be with them, will be their God, and will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain, because God is making everything new.
Big Idea: God is making all things new.

In today’s story, we learned about how a guy named John saw something amazing. Can you remember what he saw? (A brand new heaven and earth, a heavenly city)
John said that this heavenly city was beautiful! It was made of sparkly jewels. And can you remember what the streets were made of? (gold)
When you think of heaven, what do you imagine it will be like? What’s the best part about it?
In the story, it says that God will be with us forever, and will take away all our tears and sadness. How does that sound to you?
Prayer — Bible Story Leader
Dear God, thank you for your love for us, and for preparing a beautiful place for us to live with you forever. We’re so happy that one day there will be no more tears or sadness. Help us to love you and others every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Activity: Watercolour Landscape — Activity Leader
There will be print outs of a landscape for the kids to paint.
If a child is not interested in the activity, allow them to move to free play.
Dismissal: Collect tags and make sure each child leaves with their caregiver.

Can anyone remember what John saw in today’s story? (a brand new heaven and earth, and a heavenly city)
What did that heavenly city look like? What was it made of? (beautiful like a bride, made of shiny jewels and streets of gold)
What else did we learn about what the new heaven and earth will be like? (you can prompt them by asking if there will be tears or sadness or pain)
What do you imagine God’s new heaven and earth will be like? What do you think will be the best part?
How can we live in a way that shows we are part of God’s family?
Prayer — Bible Story Leader
Dear God, thank you for your promise of a new heaven and a new earth, where you will be with us forever and where there will be no more sadness or pain. Help us trust you, love others, and share your joy every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today we’re continuing our new series on the Book of Revelation.
In this book, a guy named John has bunch of visions. He sees lots of strange and interesting things, which have a hidden meaning and teach us something about God.
Before we watch our video, let’s read the passage. And don’t worry if you don’t understand it right away, because we’ll learn more about it in our video.
(I suggest letting one of the kids read the first section and a leader reads the second section)Read: Revelation 21:1-5 and Revelation 21:10-11, 21.

Follow Up Discussion — Bible Story Leader
In today’s story, John sees a vision of a New Heaven and New Earth. What are some ways that he described it?
Why do you think the Bible gives us this picture of a heavenly city made of precious jewels and with streets made of gold? What do you think it’s trying to teach us about the kind of future God has for us?
What are some things that won’t be there anymore in this new world that God is creating for us? How does that make you feel?
If God is making all things new, how can we live in a way that shows we are part of God’s family and that reflects God’s love and hope?
Prayer — Bible Story Leader
Dear God, thank you for your promise to make all things new. We are thankful that one day there will be no more pain or sadness and we will live with you forever. Help us to trust in you, share your love, and live in a way that brings hope to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
