Leader : This Lent, it is time to turn toward the indifference, despair, and sorrow you feel.
All : We affirm that our hearts are meant to carry more than cynicism and apathy.

Leader : It is time to acknowledge the ways you’re worn down, discouraged, and overwhelmed.
All : We confess our need for the good, the true, and the beautiful.Leader : It is time to pay attention to how we clamour for control, judging and dismissing each other along the way.

All : We choose to follow Christ’s example, letting go of power to welcome and to serve.Leader : It is time to admit that our conversations lack charity, affirmation, and curiosity.

All : We take up new words today and offer them to sustain, to encourage, and to comfort.Leader : Lord of Every Season, come and be our guide into resurrection life, we pray. Amen.
