BAPTISMAL PRAYER
Creator God,
Today we remember the story of how your Spirit hovered over the waters and brought creation into being.
The story of how your Spirit affirmed Jesus’ humble life and ministry.
The story of how your Spirit came as gift, empowering the early church to tell your story,
A story and flame we still carry.
Help us to sense how you are gently and wildly at work in the objects, routines, and connections of our lives - opening new spaces, bringing what is good when we have need, and transforming the details of our stories with your grace.
For our friend and community member being baptized today, we trust you to faithfully carry her - to sustain her and her family always.
For those of us remembering our baptisms, remind us of your constant care for us - how in good and bad times you are near.
For those of us unsure of your presence, or those facing difficulty - help us to be aware of your perfect peace, steady invitation, and generous affirmation.
To God our maker, Christ our savior, and the unifying Holy Spirit be all honour and glory now and forever.
